I have posted on here about my progress with The Devil's Nightmare, the next Shades of Night story and an unnamed young adult book I am working on. I brainstorm projects well in advance, and so I am constantly thinking ahead like I am playing a chess match.
The other day I started to explain to my wife the premise of a book I want to write some time after The Devil's Nightmare is finished. Usually my wife loves to hear my ideas, even if she tells me they suck. With this book idea, though, she stopped me cold after about two sentences. Why? The premise was too scary, too disturbing for her.
Seriously.
Just how disturbed is the story? Well, let me tell you that I have been collecting and reading books on criminology, even more specifically on serial offenders. Yeah, this will not be a book for the weak of heart, but I promise it will be something that sticks with readers. Essentially, I am thinking it will be a cross between The Silence of the Lambs and the show Medium. And the best part is it will bring back a character from Shadow House whom I personally found fascinating and really want to feature in a story of her own (yes, her).
I have to admit, though, that the book kind of scares even me. But still, the story is too compelling to not tell. More details will be coming about the book as things become more solid.

Sounds intense!
Yes, it will be intense. I am excited for it, but kind of feel like a cowboy about to ride the bull everyone is scared of.
